WELCOME TO THE HOUK PAGE
GREAT GREAT GRANDPARENTS SECTION
William Houk is my Fathers Fathers Fathers Father .
I'm sure you can see where this is going a few more generations on down the line. I have found very little on william.
as a matter of fact what I have was given to me by the late Betty Lorraine Johnson (nee Houk)
Heres what I've got:
I have not found any information on Williams parents and
I have exhausted the internet records so I will have to
find his death certificate. It should have his parents names on it.
He was Born July 1829 Cooper Co. Missouri.
Married Jan 23 1853 Moniteau County, Missouri
Died Oct 08 1884 Chalk Level Twp. St Clair Co. Missouri
Buried Oct 09 1886 Benton Green Cem. St ClairCo. Missouri
He married Mariah Pricilla Elliott.
Mariah
Born Abt 1837 Missouri
Married Jan 23 1853 Moniteau County, Missouri
Died Abt 1884 Moniteau Mo.
Betty Johnson gave me an article about his death, it stated that as a well digger
he was going to blast through a layer of rock and after setting the dynomite and
lighting the fuse, he waited long enough that it should have gone off.
He walked over to the well and looked in just as the dynomite went off.
The blast blinded his only good eye and badly disfigured half his face.
Nine days later died from his injuries.
From census record I have found William Houk and Mariah Pricilla Elliott are
the parents of:
Frank Delinger Houk,
Robert I Houk
William Houk
Source information
