 was to map every Houk I
 could find starting in
 Missouri. I think we are all
 in agreement that the main
 bulk of the Houk family 
 starts with George Houk and
 his children. 

 In 1850 James is in 
 District no 23 in Cooper Co.
 living with Father George
 mother Catherine & brother
 John 14.

 After the death of his first
 wife James Houk married Mary
 Elizabeth Burton. They had 4
 children, however the oldest
 died as an infant.
